We worked on several projects for this company - this is an example of a quick project to improve the user experience for the Reports that this web application generated in HTML and MS Word.
BEFORE (left)
More than just a waste of toner and paper, the original reports used 14-point text and were not easy to distinguish from one another.
AFTER (right)
This revised report shows the same information in 12pt text plus a Table of Contents. Notice the difference in the lenght of the scrollbars-the data in these reports is the same, yet ours is about eight times shorter.

By creating strong borders on a table, users end up looking at a cage rather than the contents.
AFTER (right)
Notice that the scrollbar shows that this revised report is nearly half the length of the original. It turned out that users didn't need the right column to be highlighted.
