Enterprise Analysts & Finance Redesign Web A suite of 7 applications

We spent several years working with this client, redesigning each of the seven products in their enterprise suite. We created new product branding, developed templates to be used across all the products, reworked screens to improve usability, created a style guide, and advised the company on their design strategy. The company was ultimately aquired, and our design work was part of what impressed the buyer. This work has been obscured to protect this client's intellectual property rights.

BEFORE (left)

The data is in a cage-notice the strong alternating row colors, borders and colors.

The data that needs user focus is highlighted in a way that is not obvious. And need we mention the graphs?

AFTER (right)

Even using the squint test, you can tell what data is important in this user interface design, and you can see the buttons that lead to the next actions that users might take.

BEFORE (left)

The row shading detracts from the user experience.

AFTER (right)

The screen has significantly more functionality, yet the design is streamlined to the task at hand: helping users act based on the data in a specific column.

BEFORE and AFTER

The new navigation is more clear and takes up less space.

Important data is highlighted in the blue column.

BEFORE and AFTER

Even subtle improvements in fundamentally sound screens can enhance the usability. The new user interface for this modal screen clarifies which columns are pre-defined and which ones are user-defined, while the user determines which ones are displayed and in what order. Can you find the Save and Cancel buttons in the Before screenshot? They're under the Displayed Columns list.
