This is a Windows application for users in the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner-Operator) industry. What made this project unusual is how thoroughly the team at Newforma had researched its customers' needs and how well they had articulated the features of the product based on their customers' needs. The business process they used is called "Synchronous Development", created by Product & Market Development, Inc. By using this process, they were able to fully utilize our skills in designing exactly the product they needed for success.
We helped Newforma arrive at a unique solution, a truly task-based desktop application that takes the "Inductive User Interface" designs developed at Microsoft to its full expression in an application. We worked with Newforma to bring the design all the way from the whiteboard to mockups, specifications, a style guide, and tweaks prior to its release to customers. We continue to work with them on subsequent releases as we refine the designs based on strategic customer feedback.
