This web-based data analysis application for insurance analysts needed a whole new look. The client asked us to make the interface more attractive, dynamic, and rich. Our work was purely cosmetic - we made no changes to the underlying functionality. We developed 6 new visual styles (one is shown here) and new designs for the three main screens of the product. The total cost of this project was $8,400.

We came up with several design ideas, three of which are shown below. The product was designed to track insurance reporting in health care, so the graphical themes were focused on medicine.

The customer ultimately chose Proposal #3, which we refined to be only 70K, for all images and text. Next, we moved to the main window inside the application. The original window, shown here, allowed the user to study a table of medical procedures and try to spot possible irregularities in the data (e.g. possible fraud). The client felt that their current design pushed the table too far down on the page and didn't like the use of links for commands. They also felt that the table wasn't drawing attention to the right areas.
